JiraAnalyzer
Every migration starts with the assessment. The JiraAnalyzer examines your entire Data Center instance, read-only, and lays out what the move means — before the first action is taken.
- Checks every area of the instance, from apps and automation to assets
- Names concretely what gets difficult and what needs manual rework
- Shows for each finding which of our tools covers it
- Read-only, no write access
- Evaluated against the Data Center original
- No interference with live operations
- Results documented transparently
The JiraAnalyzer produces a detailed assessment of every area of your instance: projects, fields, workflows, automation, assets, permissions, service management and more. For each area it answers the same three questions: what comes across cleanly? What gets difficult? And what remains manual rework in the end?
The result is the complete picture before the migration: an understandable classification of the overall effort, every critical finding named individually and backed by its location — and for each one, which of our tools takes it off your plate. "We will see" becomes a plan you hold beforehand.
The check runs standardised and fully deterministic: the same instance always yields the same assessment, regardless of who starts it. It goes through every area completely — more thoroughly than a review by hand and without the errors that arise when evaluating individual analysis scripts. That is exactly why a platform-based assessment is the more reliable basis.
What a standard migration leaves open
After a standard migration
- A gut feeling for how hard the migration will be
- Critical spots only surface in the migration window
- Unclear what remains manual work in the end
- Risks with no path to a solution
With this tool JiraAnalyzer
- A proven overall classification across all areas
- Every critical spot named beforehand, with its location
- Manual rework reported upfront as a list
- For each finding, the right tool
How your assessment is built
Read-only, without touching live operations.
-
1
Read out the whole instance
All areas are captured read-only via the data layer — in full, not as a sample.
Verified: Missing core sources are reported, not covered up.
-
2
Assess area by area
Each area is checked against known migration break points; serious findings are weighted, mitigating ones offset.
Verified: Every finding backed by location and severity.
-
3
Condense into the assessment
From the findings comes the overall picture: effort classification, risk profile and the mapping of each finding to a tool.
Verified: A management summary that matches the later result.
What it does
Every area of the instance
Projects, fields, screens, workflows, automation, assets, permissions, filters and dashboards, service management, apps and users and groups — eleven areas in a single pass.
Where it gets difficult
The analyzer does not just count volumes; it names the real heavy lifters: the spots where a migration typically gets demanding or quietly loses something.
What stays manual
Anything that cannot be transferred automatically, neither natively nor tool-assisted, is reported as concrete rework — with its location, so no one has to search on migration day.
Where our tools help
For each finding it shows which tool in the suite covers it. That turns the risk list straight into a path to a solution.
Standardised and reproducible
Fully deterministic: the same instance always yields the same assessment — traceable and independent of the reviewer. The analysis goes through every area completely, more thoroughly than by hand and without the errors of manually evaluating analysis scripts.
Honest and read-only
If a core source is missing, the assessment is not artificially flattered — instead of a number that fakes precision, an honest classification. The analyzer runs read-only and is safeguarded against a real instance backup.
Common questions before migrating
Does the JiraAnalyzer touch our instance?
No. It works read-only only and is safeguarded against a real instance backup. Nothing is changed, and live operations remain untouched.
How comprehensive is the assessment?
It covers every migration-relevant area of the instance — from projects, fields and workflows through automation and assets to permissions and service management. For each area it states what runs smoothly, what gets difficult and what needs manual rework.
Do we get only a rating or a path to a solution too?
Both. For each critical finding the assessment states which tool in the suite covers it and what remains manual rework. The risk list becomes a plan.
What happens after the assessment?
The effort and cost calculation, and your quote, are built on the same data. Because every document draws from one source, they stay free of contradictions. And every point flagged here as a risk resurfaces in the later final report: either as resolved or as clearly named remaining work.
Can we document and share the assessment?
Yes. The assessment can be written straight into your Confluence and continued there as living migration documentation — from the first finding to sign-off, in one place and transparent for everyone involved.
Safe and transparent
Reading separated from writing
Reads come from a read-only data layer; writes go through a single controlled channel. Read access never burdens your Cloud.
Evaluated read-only
Everything is evaluated read-only; nothing is written back into your systems. Operations and cloud budget stay untouched.
Repeatable without risk
Every step can be run again without doing harm. An interruption is no problem, and a second run creates no duplicates.
One isolated stack per customer
All tools run on the Jira Migration Manager platform, fully separated per engagement. No mixing of data.
All results are documented transparently and can be checked against the Data Center original. Nothing is silently changed or left out.
Runs on the Jira Migration Manager
This tool does not stand alone. It runs on the platform that unites every tool: a read-only read layer pulls Data Center and Cloud into a versioned snapshot, and every change goes through a single, controlled write gateway.

Jira Migration Manager
The platform that brings every migration tool under one roof and makes a Jira DC-to-Cloud migration safe and repeatable: separate read and write paths, rate-limited into the Cloud, credentials encrypted, one isolated stack per customer.
- Read-only read layer and rate-limited write channel kept strictly separate
- All tools on one shared data base, chainable into pipelines
- Token-secured perimeter, encrypted keystore, one stack per customer
Asset Relink
Migrates Insight/Assets to the Cloud in full: fields and contexts, AQL filters, screens and the object values on every issue. Exactly where standard tools lose the links.
- Create fields, contexts and screens in the Cloud
- Translate AQL filters from Data Center to Cloud
- Relink object values on every issue
Jira Migration Helper
JCMA migrates the bulk of your data but leaves configuration broken or unmigrated. Jira Migration Helper closes these gaps module by module and, with Managed Migration, runs the right fixes for each finished project automatically — every one dry-run by default and verified against the live Cloud API.
- Repair filters, dashboards, fields, roles and permissions that JCMA leaves open
- Managed Migration: automatically run the right fixes per project as it finishes
- Web UI or CLI, every module dry-run by default and secured by the idempotent write gateway
